• Shapoorji Pallonji Group is establishing a Singapore-based entity named Invesdian to build student housing facilities across India. This new platform will develop, own, and operate purpose-built student accommodation projects.
• The total estimated project cost for this student housing initiative is approximately $300 million (Rs 2,640 crore). The platform will be managed by SPIRE Investment Manager Pte. Ltd.
• The International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private-sector investment arm of the World Bank Group, plans to invest up to $37.5 million (Rs 333 crore) in Invesdian through a combination of equity and debt. This marks a continuation of IFC's prior investments with the Shapoorji Pallonji Group.
• IFC is a significant development financial institution in India, with commitments to the country reaching $10.3 billion for the year ended June 30, 2025. Its recent real estate investments include a $150 million commitment to a fund managed by HDFC Capital.
