• The company, founded in 2020, had raised nearly half a million dollars from at least seven institutional investors. Its co-founder stated that a "frivolous complaint" led to the detention of team members.
• Wherehouse provided a cloud-based on-demand warehousing solution for D2C brands, enabling features like same-day delivery and inventory management. The startup had expanded its presence to over 20 cities with more than 2,500 warehouses.
• Despite growing net sales and a reported profitability in FY25, the company's financial performance showed net losses in previous fiscal years. The detention of its team members appears to have been the critical factor leading to the shutdown.
