• Medway Hospitals, a South India-based multi-speciality hospital chain, is planning its first institutional fundraising round. The company aims to raise approximately $50 million (Rs 449 crore) by diluting a minority stake.
• The hospital chain operates nine facilities across six locations in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, offering high-end tertiary and quaternary care. Medway Hospitals is recognized as the first standalone cardiac hospital in South India to achieve Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation.
• Medway Hospitals follows a hub-and-spoke model with specialized hospitals ranging from 75 to 120 beds, focusing on centers of excellence in cardiac care, pulmonology, nephrology, and mother and child care. The company reported Rs 170 crore in FY25 and projects over 25% CAGR growth for the next five years.
• Mid-market investment bank Veda Corporate Advisors has been engaged to identify potential investors for Medway Hospitals. This move occurs amidst significant deal activity in the hospital sector, with other chains and private equity firms actively pursuing investments.
