• Indian publicly listed companies' charitable donations increased by 9% to Rs 5,111 crore in FY25, compared to Rs 4,692 crore in FY24. These donations include philanthropy, political support, and contributions to various organizations.
• The top 10 donors contributed Rs 3,556 crore in FY25, a 13% increase from the previous year, with Reliance Industries leading despite a slight decrease in its own spending. Bharti Airtel and Gujarat State Petronet joined the top 10, replacing Natco Pharma and Zydus Lifesciences.
• Hindalco and Bharti Airtel saw the largest year-on-year growth in donations, more than doubling their contributions, while Sun Pharma, Jindal Steel, and IRB Infrastructure Developers reduced their donation outlay. Gujarat State Petronet Ltd was the only state-level PSU among the top corporate donors.
• Over 100 companies more than doubled their donation amounts, accounting for 20% of total contributions, and the number of companies donating Rs 1 crore or more rose to 137. The top 50 donors collectively increased their contributions by over 17%.
