• Gaja Capital has launched its first secondaries fund, the Eastgate Secondaries Fund, aiming to raise Rs 1,250 crore ($139 million). This fund will focus on acquiring existing investments within private equity.
• The firm is also preparing to raise its fifth flagship private equity fund next year, with a target of Rs 2,500 crore. This new fund will continue Gaja Capital's focus on technology and tech-enabled businesses.
• Gaja Capital has filed its updated draft red herring prospectus for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) of its investment manager, Gaja Alternative Asset Manager Ltd. The IPO aims to raise Rs 549.2 crore through a fresh issue and Rs 107 crore through an offer for sale by existing shareholders.
• The IPO proceeds will be used to fund sponsor commitments to its secondaries fund, its fifth PE fund, and its fourth fund. This listing would position Gaja Capital as one of the first standalone PE firms to be publicly traded in India.
