• Despite a general slowdown in PE/VC funding momentum, the first week of December saw total funding exceed $589 million across 18 deals. This value more than doubled the previous week's $255 million from 32 transactions.
• KKR's significant $322 million investment in National Highways Infrastructure Trust (NHIT) for a 10% stake represented over half of the total capital raised during the period. This deal involved KKR acquiring units from CPPIB and OTPP.
• Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity remained strong, with 12 deals recorded, a notable increase from the single-digit figures in preceding weeks. JSW Steel's $2.72 billion sale of its Bhushan Power and Steel unit to a joint venture with JFE Steel was a prominent transaction.
• Other notable PE/VC deals included Apraava Energy raising $92 million from BII and Standard Chartered, while Ultraviolette and Yoodli secured $40-50 million each. Several other companies raised between $10-20 million, and eight early-stage startups raised less than $10 million.
